Bailey Ryon is an actress, dancer, singer, aspiring screenwriter, and animal advocate.

Bailey played the role of Matilda in the OBC of Matilda the Musical, Cindy Lou Who in the National Tour of How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and the role of Mary Lennox in The Arden Theatre Company’s production of The Secret Garden. At James Madison University, Bailey has had the privilege to be in productions such as Sunday In The Park With George (Dot/Marie), Chicago (Liz/Roxie US), RENT (Alexi Darling/Company), and A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Fairy Band/Hermia US). She has also participated in several shows with the Susquehannock Theatre including The Wizard of Oz (Dorothy), Puffs (Susie Bones/Harry/Others), Big Fish (Jenny Hill), and The Matchmaker (Minnie Fae)

Bailey received a Tony Honors for her performance in Matilda the Musical as well as a Grammy Nomination for Best Musical Soundtrack. She also received superior ratings for the International Thespian Excellence Awards at the 2020 PA State Thespian Festival and was supposed to attend Nationals before the pandemic struck.

She is currently a college senior studying at James Madison University. She will receive her BA in Musical Theatre in May 2024, after training with professors such as Kate Arecchi, Kate Lumpkin CSA, Matt Pardo, Dr. Melissa Sumner, and Miguel Perez.

In addition to attending James Madison, she has trained four years at The Broadway Collective, a rigorous musical theatre academy, where her award-winning coaches and mentors include Robert Hartwell, Kate Lumpkin CSA, Tyler Mckenzie, and Sarah Meahl. She has also worked under Beau Harmon as Associate Choreographer for Spongebob the Musical.

Outside of Musical Theatre, Bailey can be found working with/volunteering/advocating for animals in any way she can. Bailey can also be found spending time writing screenplays that she hopes to produce in the future.
